Cornell Hillel is looking for it's newest members of H.O.T. ....the Hillel Orientation Team! We are looking for 10 members for the team in addition to the two Co-Chairs, Simone Klein and Andrew Marderstein. We are really excited to read your applications and get to know you though the interview process! HOT is an amazing experience that allows you to connect with incoming students, ease their transition to Cornell, and make a big difference in the lives of these students.

HOT is responsible for Hillel programming during Orientation Week such as:
- Meet and Greet Programming during Cornell Days - Training during the Spring 2015 semester - Returning early to campus and attend all Orientation events - Facilitating programs and ice-breakers at Orientation - Building lasting relationships with New Students

Lauren Goldman is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Computer Science. She is a mentor in the club College Mentors for Kids, works in the Human Resources department, is a peer advisor, and is the president of her sorority. In her free time Lauren likes looking at cute pictures of animals on the internet, hanging out with her friends, and coloring. She is so excited to be leading the Hillel Orientation team and can't wait for the best FreshmanFest yet!
Larry Zmoira is sophomore studying in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is a member of the Cornell Chabad Student Board and an active member of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity as well. In his free time, you can find him out on the water sailing, watching his favorite shows, House of Cards and Game of Thrones, or sleeping.
Ellie Rothstein is a sophomore studying Food Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Ellie took a gap year in Israel before coming to Cornell and is still trying to adjust to Ithaca weather. She is in the food science club, on the Israel programming committee, and is a member of her sorority, AEPhi. In her free time Ellie loves hanging out with her friends, eating mozzarella sticks, or embarrassing herself on the Ivy League snapchat story!
Jonah Klapholz is a junior premed Human Development major in the College of Human Ecology. In general he's a pretty cool guy. He is a Human Ecology Ambassador, works in the Laboratory of Brain and Cognition, and is the outreach coordinator for the StethoScoop, a premedical journal . In his free time he enjoys skiing, binge-watching The Office because that show is hilarious and he loves it, playing with Nerf guns and cooking breakfast food at any time of the day. He is super pumped to be leading FreshmanFest!
Michal Weiss is a sophomore Biology major, concentrating in neurobiology, in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She is the secretary for Cornell SEED, a club that does science experiments for kids, she is on the Engagement committee for Hillel, and is a member of the community service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. In her free time, she can be found hanging out with her friends, attempting to explore new places to eat in Ithaca and of course, watching Netflix.
Claire Malkin is a sophomore
Biology major in the College of Arts and Sciences, hoping to concentrate in computational biology. She is a member of Cornell's Undergraduate Research Board, a mentor in the club Step Up, and a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. In her free time she enjoys finding the quickest way around campus, going to Purity for ice cream, and watching Netflix with her friends!
Lauren Goldstein is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Asian Studies. She is on the executive board of Cayuga’s Watchers, is involved with The Daily Sun and is a member of her sorority, Sigma Delta Tau. In her free time she enjoys eating sushi, watching Netflix, and hanging out with her friends.
Oren Alon is a sophomore in the College of Engineering, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is part of a research team attempting to design a spacecraft simulator and a member of the Sigma Alpha Mu social fraternity. In his free time he can be found procrastinating, watching dog videos, or going to Shabbat dinner.
Rachel Katz is a sophomore in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences planning on majoring in Biology and Society. She is a red carpet ambassador, a member of the business fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon, a research assistant for a lab on campus, the assistant director of IvyCORPS, and a member of the social sorority Alpha Epsilon Phi. In her free time she likes hanging out with her friends, taking naps, and watching Netflix.
Matthew DiStefano is a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering. He is a member of the Cornell Autonomous Sailboat project team, conducts research in a lab, and participates in the Cornell chapter of Amnesty International. He is also a member of the Zeta Psi social fraternity on campus. In his free time, he loves traveling, hiking, and studying history. He is also mildly obsessed with Europe as a whole.
Ben Sternklar-Davis is junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering from New York City. In addition to the Hillel Orientation Team, Ben is a member of Hillel’s communications committee, works in the Rapid Prototyping Lab, and is the airframe lead on the CUAir Project Team (Cornell’s Autonomous Aerial Systems Team). In his free time you can find Ben throwing a frisbee on the engineering quad or searching for open eateries after 2am.
